Public minivans

The normal and the only public transport toward different destinations in the Albanian Alps is provided by local private minivans of 19 seats. The minivans used to do one ride per day on a daily round-trip bases.

Shkodra – Theth – Shkodra

This is a general information. We do not book seats or tickets.

Starting point in Shkodra: In front of Rozafa Hotel – city center.

Time-table: every morning at 07.00 a.m. from Shkodra, once a day;

Time-table: every day at around at 10.00 a.m. from Thethi, once a day.

Trip duration: around 2 hours one-way
Public Minibus Ticket Price: 12 Eur/person one-way. Only Cash to the driver.
Pick-up: is offered from the hotel door in Shkodra, at around between 06.30 – 07.00 a.m. Directly contact one of our drivers below.

Drop off: Valley center.

Booking: Ask the hotel/guesthouse manager to book the seats for you or directly contact one of them.

Shkodra – Koman – Fierze – Valbona

Where: Rus, Shkoder, Ura e Maxharrit square. Close to Bar Malesia.
Time-table: every morning 06.00 a.m. from Vermosh, once a day; Return to Vermosh around 12.00 am.
Trip duration: 2,5 hours one way
Public Minibus Ticket Price: 20 Eur/ Person one way

Booking tickets: there is no place for tickets in advance. Just ask your guesthouse to help with the driver’s contact. Or get presented at Bar Malesia at Rus Maxharr Square in Shkodra and ask them for any driver waiting there.

For a full experience during your trip and for safety reasons on the mountain routes, we always recommend booking a guide for your trip in the Albanian Alps. There are a few certified professional mountain guides, locals from our valleys, mostly English speaking, available for multi-days and cross country tours.

In each valley, there are also local young men offering the service of a local guide to the close attraction on that specific area. These guides speak a few words of English, which can show you not only the path but reveal to you the local customs and traditions from the stories they use to narrate.

First Aid in Albanian Alps

The first aid, for a simple approach is provided from the ambulatory next to the school, right in the center of the valley. For more complicated interventions a transport with a 4×4 car can be arranged at any moment and reach the city in 2.5 hours.

Civil emergencies are available in other cases if someone is stucked or hurt in the peaks.
